School Protest Causes Concern

SULLIVAN, Ind. – A protest at a Sullivan County School causes a disruption according to school officials.

News 10 reports that there was a small protest was organized at Sullivan High School on Wednesday staged by those who are in support of the second amendment.

Southwest School Superintendent Chris Stitzle was quoted as saying that the there isn’t a problem with students protesting but with the fact that parents aren’t allowed to protest on school grounds.

Parents were asked to move to the sidewalk.

There was also a safety concern with students taking the demonstration outside.

The Superintendent also said that those wanting to protest didn’t go through proper channels and school administrators to clear the demonstration before it happened.

School officials say that they are not anti or pro – gun and the support free speech.
