TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – One man was arrested after a Saturday night scuffle with police.

It happened around 8 p.m. near 16th Street and 6th Avenue.

Police say they tried to arrest 27-year-old Nicholas Loffredo for a warrant, but police say that he actively resisted and that is when a handgun fell to the ground from Loffredo.

The serial number from the gun had been defaced.

Loffredo is facing charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Marijuana, and two counts of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person.

He will make his first court appearance on Tuesday (10/9/18).
