INDIANAPOLIS – The state legislature is meeting for organization day.
Educators and others from around the state will be in Indianapolis to let lawmakers know that they want changes in teacher compensation, how standardized test scores are used to evaluate teacher and more. It’s being called Red-For-Ed Day.
Since some many educators around the state wanted to attend events in Indianapolis there was a severe shortage of substitute teachers.
In our area:
Vigo County Schools are closed and are taking a snow day that will be made up on February 14th.
Other schools in our area that are closed include,
North Central Parke. Their makeup day will be March 18 next year.
Southwest Parke will be closed with a makeup day March 19 next year.
South Vermillion will be closed with a makeup day on February 17th next year.
South Putnam is closed today.
