TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – The Council on Domestic Abuse is facing financial hardship and needs to raise around $150,000 by September or it will be forced to close its residence shelter.

Several organizations and businesses are stepping up to help meet that goal.

Over the past few days, the community raised around $25,000.

Officials are very excited and hope that they’ll raise the needed money in time.

CODA officials say their financial problems are largely due to money that they are owed not being collected.
