INDIANAPOLIS  – A woman who claims to be a victim of groping by Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill has come forward to tell her story.

The Associated Press reports that Democratic state Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon of Munster,  published her own account of the March 15 incident, in the Northwest Indiana Times newspaper.

Candelaria-Reardon said that the incident happened earlier this year at an Indianapolis bar in the early morning hours.

She says he leaned toward her, put his hand on her back, slid it down and grabbed her buttocks. Candelaria-Reardon claims to have told Hill to “backoff” and that he did the same thing again later that night.

Hill has denied allegations made by Candelaria Reardon and three other legislative staffers.

Candelaria-Reardon says that she came forward to tell her story to support other victims.

Late Friday afternoon Hill tweeted he will not step down and that he has been “falsely accused of some of the same crimes I spent 28 years prosecuting.”

He is now calling for an investigation by the Marion County prosecutor’s office.

Hill is a former Elkhart County prosecutor who is a married social conservative and is thought of as a rising star in the Republican Party.

On Thursday night, Indiana’s top GOP leaders including Gov. Eric Holcomb joined Democrats who have said Hill should step down.

In the past Hill has criticized some initiatives by Gov. Holcomb and other initiatives, including needle exchange programs and legalizing cannabis derived medicine.
