VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Indiana State Police say that after an in-depth investigation by Trooper Brad Fyfe, the owners of stolen firearms discovered back on January 10th, have been located.

Police say that the owner was grateful the guns were found, due to sentimental values and public safety.

Troopers say that they would like to thank everyone who contributed to this investigation by calling in with information pertaining to this case.

Police found a car that was disabled on State Road 63 near Barnhardt Road. The guns were clearly visible to police.

26-year-old Cody W. Doss, of Terre Haute was arrested on multiple charges after he was seen walking toward the vehicle and then tried to run from police.

Doss had the key to the vehicle in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Doss claimed to have permission from the vehicles owner to have the car but he did not.

Doss is being held in the Vigo County Jail and will make his next court appearance on Thursday (1/16/20).
