Sullivan County Sheriff Called To Help Endangered Horse

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. – A Sunday morning call to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s office about a possibly malnourished horse.

Police say that they were told about a horse walking down a county road and the horse was very skinny with its ribs, hips and back bones visible.

The state veterinarian was contacted and confirmed the horse is in poor condition.

Police are now waiting to see if criminal charges will be filed.

The horse was taken to Horse Shoe Equine Rescue in Terre Haute.

Police are not currently releasing details about the horse’s owner as the investigation is still ongoing.
