SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the theft of a 2015 Dodge Cummins diesel truck that was stolen last Tuesday from a residence, just north of Sullivan.

Police received tips that the truck had been spotted near Shelburn late Thursday, but were unable to locate it.

Last Friday police received a tip that the truck was seen on North Court Street in Sullivan.

Officers found the truck at a residence with the male driver in the home but he refused to come out.

Officers made contact with an elderly female who was also inside the home, she told them that she wanted no part of what was going on and met officers at the front door.

When she opened the front door 55 year old Jeffrey Meier ran out of the back of the house.

He was apprehended after a short foot chase by an Indiana State Police Trooper.

Meier is being held in the Sullivan County Jail on several charges.

Bond is set at $12,000 bond with no 10% allowed.
