Suspect Injured And Arrested, Trooper Injured After Three Robberies And Chase

VIGO COUNTY, Ind  – Thursday night around 9:00 p.m.  police were called out about three robberies.

Officers say that a white male wearing a hospital mask robbed a female of here cell phone and car at gun point.

Shortly after that another robbery was reported at the Marathon gas station at 13th Street and Ft Harrison and then another robbery occurred a short time later at the Casey’s gas station at 25th Street and Ft Harrison.

The description of the suspect in all three reports was the same.

While on patrol, Indiana State Police  Trooper Rondell Shelton found the stolen vehicle near 25th Street and Maple Avenue.

The suspect led the Trooper on a chase through the city which eventually ended after the vehicle lost a tire on 1st Street just south of Wabash Avenue.

The suspect then ran from the vehicle and jumped off a 20-foot ledge near the Wabash River landing on the ground injuring his ankle.

During a short foot pursuit Trooper Shelton lost his footing on the embankment and injured his shoulder.

The suspect was arrested and lifted out with a sled by the Terre Haute Fire Department and taken to the hospital to be treated for an ankle injury and then taken to jail.

27-year-old Nathan Todd Gabaldon-Curtis of Terre Haute was arrested on charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, Driving While Suspended (Prior), Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated
