VIGO COUNTY, Ind. — During Tuesday night’s meeting of the Vigo County Council, members heard from the Vigo County Taxpayers Association about planning for the new Vigo County Jail.

The Taxpayers Association believes that instead of the county building a 504-bed jail, they should go with a smaller 422-bed jail.

They believe that could save about $10 million and if more beds are needed later then they could be added on.

No vote on jail funding as taken at last night’s meeting.
