TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A teenager accused of shooting and killing another teen is back in jail after failing a drug test.
.19 year old Nathan Derickson tested positive for THC during a routine drug test which is a condition of his release.
Police have accused Derickson of shooting and killing Garrett Sands at a party.
After the shooting, the court ordered Derickson to home detention.
Derickson’s attorney said the positive test is because he is prescribed CBD Oil.
The judge wants to hear from experts before making a decision.
Derickson posted $25,000 bond and has been released and is set to return to court June 27th.
