VERMILLION COUNTY, Indy – Around 12:30 Friday Vermillion County Deputies were called to a two vehicle accident on State Road 63 near the Universal turn-off.

Police say that a car driven by 19 year old Sarah Cuevas of Valparaiso was found in the median with smoke coming from under the hood after hitting a pick-truck that was parked on the side of the road.

The truck was up against the guardrail with heavy driver side damage.

Deputies say that their investigation shows that Cuevas lost control of her vehicle, over corrected, and then sideswiped the pickup truck.

Cuevas and her two passengers were transported to Union Hospital in Terre Haute for non-life threatening injuries.

The four occupants in the parked pick-up were not injured.

The occupants of the pickup were about to begin installing gates on the adjoining property prior to the accident.
