TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Terre Haute Air Show is this weekend and that means over 50,000 people will be at the Terre Haute Airport over the two days.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has loaned local officials a new piece of technology that is able to handle local emergencies at the airport.

9-1-1 dispatchers will be stationed on site in a specially equipped semi-trailer that will handle emergency calls on site with new technology to create a “geo-fence.”

Any wireless 9-1-1 call that would be placed during the air show from within the grounds, will ring in the mobile command center and handled on site.

Anyone outside the geo-fence will still have their emergency calls answered at central dispatch in Terre Haute like normal.

People in the mobile command center will also be sending out alerts about traffic, weather, and emergencies like missing children. Text THAIRSHOW to 888777 for those updates.

The show will feature will feature the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the Air Force’s F-22 Raptor.

There will also be multiple ground displays of current and vintage aircraft including several WWII planes.

There will be plenty to see in the air.  Organizers say that the show in the air will last over four hours each of the two days.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. You can buy tickets on your smart phone up to the point you are ready to approach the gate.
