VIGO COUNTY, Ind – The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office along with Terre Haute Police and Indiana State Police will be providing traffic management for the Terre Haute Airshow this weekend.  Both incoming visitors and local residents will be significantly impacted by the event and knowledge of the traffic pattern is vital to both groups.  Please note the information below so that you are informed.  All attendees to the airshow must access the event by traveling East on SR 42 from SR 46, REGARDLESS of their route to the event. Do to expected crowd size we encourage visitors to arrive early and avoid the rush.

Airshow Access:

1. Those visitors to the show coming from the East along SR 42 will be directed to N/B Chamberlain Street to US 40 and West on US 40 to Southbound SR 46 to SR 42 and East on 42.
2. Those visitors to the show traveling West on US 40 will proceed to SR 46.  No traffic will be permitted onto Southbound Chamberlain Road or Southbound Hunt Street.
3. Those attendees traveling along I-70 should exit at SR 46 (Exit 11B)and will be directed North on SR 46 to SR 42 then East on SR 42.
4. Those traveling East on US 40 will be directed to Southbound SR 46 to Eastbound SR 42.
5. Those coming from SR 46 or SR 641 should proceed North on SR 46 to SR 42.
6. SR 42 will be two lane Eastbound from SR 46 to the Airport entrance before the show and then turned two lanes West after the show.

Several local streets will be restricted and blocked during the event and thus local residents are advised of the following closures.  The residents of these roadways should be prepared to provide proof of residency to access these areas.  In addition no parking along these roadways will be permitted.

1. Chamberlain Streetbetween US 40 & SR 42 will be CLOSED.  Local residents must access Chamberlain St. from Milner Ave and Main St (South of Seelyville).
2. Swalls Driveshould be accessed only from Tabortown Street not SR 42.
3. Palmer StreetSouth of SR 42 is closed to residents only.
4. Sugar GroveWest of Palmer is closed to residents only.
5. CrosslandsRoad is closed.
6. Frye StreetNorth of Margaret Dr. is closed to residents only.
7. Margaret Drivebetween Frye St. and Stultz St. is closed to residents only.
8. Stultz closed to residents only.
9. Hunt Streetclosed between SR 46 and US 40 to local residents only.
10. Hulman East of 46 closed to local residents only.
