Terre Haute Council Approves Tax Abatement And Money To Demolish Homes

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – During Thursday night’s Terre Haute City Council Meeting, the council passed a tax abatement for an expanding east side business.

JWS Machine, a subsidiary of Stark Industries, specializes in CNC machining of parts for the aviation industry.

The business located at the Terre Haute airport asked for a 10-year abatement of personal property taxes on a $5 million investment in manufacturing equipment.

The expansion will allow the business to add eight new positions with salaries totaling $400,000.

The business currently has 75 employees with a total payroll of $3.2 million.

The council also approved nearly $11,000 to aid in the demolition of blighted homes around the city.
