Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly announced on Thursday that federal grants have been awarded to help safety and operations at five Indiana fire departments. The grants, funded by the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Locally the Terre Haute Fire Department will received $283,576.

Donnelly said, “Every day, Hoosier firefighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians work tirelessly, at personal risk, to protect families across the state. I’m pleased these fire departments have been awarded federal grants that will support our firefighters as they serve our communities, and I’m proud to support this important program at the federal level.”
