TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Terre Haute Humane Society is in need of help after having to take in 39 dogs unexpectedly Monday.

Operations Manager, Fred Strohm says that they were called to help by the Vigo County Sheriffs Department when 45 dogs were found in a garage.

A person at the home was able to keep six dogs.

The animals had food and water but were not socialized.

A lack of socialization meant that some of the dogs were dangerous.

They were not spayed or neutered.

Health conditions of some of the dogs forced their euthanization.

The Humane Society is working to care for the dogs and will take some time to try make them trusting of people so that they may be adoptable.
