Terre Haute Man Accused Of Criminal Recklessness Appears In Court

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A Terre Haute man is being held in the Vigo County Jail on charges of criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm, and possession of methamphetamine.

35 year old Christopher Blanton was arrested by Terre Haute police after a four hour strand off with officers Sunday night.

Officers say that Blanton fired a gun in a house on Oakland Avenue on the city’s eastside which led to the initial 9-1-1 call.

He allegedly pointed the gun at another person in the house.

Blanton refused to leave the house and eventually officers went in and found him hiding in the attack.

He made an initial court appearance Monday and will return to court Thursday.
