TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – A Terre Haute man is being held in the Vigo County Jail on multiple charges after allegedly running from police and then shooting at them.

On Wednesday evening police say they tried to pull over a vehicle being driven by Gavin Ighile.

He got out of his car and ran and during a short foot chase officers say that a shot was fired toward an officer.

Police quickly grabbed Ighile and arrested him on charges of dealing cocaine and heroin, possession of a gun by a serious violent felon, and resisting law enforcement.
