Terre Haute Man Arrested On Counterfeiting And Theft Charges

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Vermillion County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report that a man had set up a meeting to purchase a Playstation 4 and components using the online Application LetGo.

 

They agreed to meet at the Wal-Mart Parking lot.  The transaction took place on May 2nd with an unknown male arriving and paying for the Playstation using counterfeit money.  When the owner of the Playstation confronted the male, he fled the scene with the game unit.

 

The victim was able to provide deputies with a license plate number.

 

The man was identified and a meeting was set up where the victim was to “get his money back” and the man who was identified as 22 year old Dontae S. Bensahri of Terre Haute was arrested on charges of Counterfeiting or using counterfeit money, as well as theft. 

 

Bensahri is being held on a $10,000 bond with 10% allowed.  

 

Bensahri was found to have an active warrant out of Vigo County for the same offences, using counterfeit money to purchase goods or services.
