TERRE HAUTE, Ind- On Wednesday evening (1/1/20) just before 10:00 p.m. Terre Haute Police and Terre Haute Fire Department Medics were called to 233 South 9th Street about an unconscious man on the front porch of the residence.
Police say that they were told that it might have been a homeless man who frequented the area.
The victim was taken to Union Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Medical staff at the hospital informed police that the man had multiple injuries including what appeared to be stab wounds to his back.
Just before 6:00 a.m. this morning (1/2/20) officers arrested 32 year old Justin Gasaway on a preliminary charge of murder. Police say that Gasaway lives at the home where the victim was found.
The victims name has not yet been released.
