Terre Haute Man Found Hiding In Barn After Parke County Crash

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Parke County Deputies were called out Tuesday to a two-vehicle accident on US 36 just east of Billie Creek Village.

Officers say one driver fled the scene before they arrived.

A Police K9 successfully tracked the suspect to a nearby barn.

45-year-old Eldon M. Haviland of Terre Haute was taken to Union Hospital in Clinton for injuries sustained in the accident.

The Parke County Prosecutor is reviewing the case. Police say that possible charges include Operating While intoxicated Controlled Substance, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage accident and False Informing,

The driver of the second vehicle, Mary Brown of Rockville, was uninjured.
