TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Terre Haute Meijer store made a donation to the Terre Haute Police Department Friday afternoon.
The $10,000 check is to cover the cost of a new K9 named ‘Kix.’
Officer Todd Haller is Kix’s handler.
The department is hoping its annual ‘5K Hot Pursuit’ race will buy another dog.
The K9 Officers perform many tasks including search for missing children, find drugs and money and even help track down criminals.
The 5K Pursuit takes place on Saturday, October 20th at the World Gospel Church in Terre Haute and is open to walkers and children.
Registration fee is $20 before the race.
