Terre Haute Woman Loses Case Over Dance Ordinance

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A judge has found a Terre Haute woman in violation of city code.

She was cited for violating the city “dance ordinance” when she hosted a birthday party for her husband.

Officers said Williams opened the party up to the public, had a DJ, and did not have security.

Police said that according to the ordinance, a person needs a permit if the event is open, or admission is being charged.

Williams will determine what punishment will be handed down in August.
