VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Vermillion County Police have arrested three people in connection to an attempted theft of copper at White Construction, north of Clinton.

Officers were told that a storage container had been broken into and that copper ground wire was removed from a spool and cut into small pieces.

The sheriff’s office installed surveillance equipment and last Thursday (9/6/18) evening just before 8 p.m. that surveillance equipment showed three individuals taking the copper from the container.

Deputies arrived within minutes and arrested three men in the process of loading a pickup truck with the copper.

30 year old Charles Chapman JR. and 31 year old Robert Weger who are both from Clinton and 38 year old Richard Rogers of Terre Haute were all arrested on charges of theft.
