Trail Date Set For Man Charged With Arson

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – A trial date was set Friday for the man accused of setting fire to the Vigo County Community Corrections facility.

46-year-old Jason E. Morales will stand trial September 17th on a charge of burglary, and three counts of arson.

He allegedly set fire to several parole offices in the building in the early morning hours of June 27th.

Morales remains in the Vigo County Jail with bond set at $100,000, no 10 percent allowed.

He has a lengthy criminal history that dates back to 1990 when he pleaded guilty to setting fire to a house in Terre Haute that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old child. Morales were sentenced to 25 years in prison for that crime and was released from prison in 2004.
