Trooper Involved In Fatal Shooting In Crawfordsville Identified

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Indiana State police have released the name of a Trooper who fatally shot a man last week along a highway near Crawfordsville.

Officials say that Trooper Daniel Organ fatally shot 56-year-old Glenn A. Rightsell of Linden on December 28th after he failed to follow the officers orders and grabbed a handgun on his own waist. 

Organ is a graduate of Riverton-Parke High School in Parke County and Indiana State University.

Organ joined the force in October 2017, works out of the Lafayette post and has no disciplinary record. 

He’s currently on administrative leave.
