Two Arrested After Shots Fired Saturday Morning

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Two people have been arrested after Terre Haute Police were called out on a report of shots fired early Saturday morning.

It happened outside the McDonald’s on Lafayette around 4 a.m.

Police say 39-year-old Jesse Smith and 44-year-old Roxanna Smith, who police say are reportedly dating, got into some kind of altercation with a former boyfriend of Roxanne.

Officers say that Jesse Smith allegedly fired two shots during that argument.

No injuries were reported.

Jesse and Roxanne fled to a home on Washington Street.

Jesse tried to hide from police in the crawl space of the home.

Jesse Smith is facing preliminary charges of Possession of a Handgun by a Felon, Habitual Traffic Violator and Criminal Recklessness.

Roxanna Smith is facing a preliminary charge of Assisting a Criminal.

Both are set to make initial court appearances on Monday.
