Two Arrested After Weekend Accident

TERRE HAUTE, Ind –  Two people are facing charges after a Sunday evening crash that happened at Erie Canal Road and Heinl Drive.

Police say that 76-year-old James Beeson of Bloomington and his passenger 36-year-old Jonathan Vega of Terre Haute were both injured when the vehicle they were in was hit as they tried to turn onto Erie Canal Drive.

Beeson told police he didn’t see the vehicle driven by 19-year-old Brayden Beel of Terre Haute.

Police say that Beel’s passenger 19-year-old Brendan Gaston, was found with an illegal smoking device and was arrested on a possession of paraphernalia charge. He appeared in court yesterday (Monday) and was released on his own recognizance.

Beel is set to appear in court Thursday on charges of possession of methamphetamine. possession of paraphernalia and driving under the influence.
