Van Duyn Elementary Employee Accused Of Stealing Students Meds

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Indiana State Police say that back on May 16, 2019, they were called by the South Vermillion School Corporation about a possible theft of prescription medication at Van Duyn Elementary School. 

During the investigation, police learned that 40-year-old Lydia Stevens of Terre Haute allegedly stole medication from a student at the school.

Stevens worked at the school as a health aid.

Yesterday (8/22/219) Stevens was arrested on charges of:

Theft, A Misdemeanor

Possession of a Controlled Substance, A Misdemeanor

Theft, Level 6 Felony
