NEWPORT, Ind.  — The Indiana State Soil Conservation Board awarded 14 grants worth around $1 million throughout the state to go towards the Clean Water Indiana program.

The Vermillion County Soil and Water Conservation District is one of those recipients and is partnering with Parke County to use their $60,000 grant to fund a soil health consultant for farmers for the next three years.

The soil health consultant works with farmers in both counties to implement or refine conservation practices on their farms.
