Vermillion County Man Doesn’t Make It Through Flood Water

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Wednesday afternoon around 3:45, Indiana State Police, Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office, and Black Diamond Fire/Rescue responded to the area of CR 110 E near CR 1780 S on the report of a vehicle in the water.

Fire personnel rescued 51-year-old Albert Gouchnour from his Chevrolet Cavalier using a large fire truck.

No injuries were reported.

Police remind you that when you come across a flooded road way as this obviously was, you should turn around and that when drivers disregard signs and become stranded, you needlessly put the lives of first responders in danger

Gouchnour was cited for Disregarding Traffic Control Device related to high water road closure.
