Video About Womans Treatment In Local Theater Going Viral

TERRE HAUTE, Ind –  A local woman said that all she wanted was to watch a movie at the Terre Haute AMC theater but that was more difficult than she thought it was going to be.

Renay Conner got teary-eyed as she tried to explain in her YouTube video ( and on her Facebook page ) what allegedly happened at a movie theater in Terre Haute this past weekend. As of this Friday night (6/01/18) the video has been viewed over 56,000 times on her Facebook page. Her story has also been picked up by WTHR-TV in Indianapolis.

In the video Conner said that she and her husband wanted to see “Dead Pool 2.” They bought their tickets but Renay said that when she couldn’t fit into the movie theater seats she requested a folding chair instead.

She suggested that the chair could be placed out of the way in the wheelchair area.

She was denied by AMC employees because it was a fire hazard but she wondered what the difference would be between a folding chair and a wheelchair.

She said when she decided to leave she was not given a refund.

Conner said that she knows that she may not always be provided a seat but wants to be treated with respect.

Another video was posted Friday night and Conner said that she was contacted by AMC and was given a “Goodie Bag” to make up for her experience which included free movie passes along with other items.
