TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – At Monday night’s Vigo County School Board meeting four new members took their seats alongside three incumbents.

The board held its first public and private meetings of 2019.

New members are Dr. Susan Powers from District 1, Hank Irwin from District 2, Joni Wise from District 4 and Rosemarie Scott from District 5.

One of the first actions taken by the new board was selecting a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer of the board of trustees.

Jackie Lower will remain as president. Hank Irwin was elected as vice president. Paul Lockhart will serve as secretary and Chief Financial Officer Bruce Perry will be treasurer.

Transparency was the key word of the night as all new comers said that was their goal.
