VIGO COUNTY, Ind – The Vigo County School Board meets tonight at 6p.m. at the administration building on Wabash Avenue and they are expected to hear a second reading of a strategic planning process proposed by superintendent Rob Haworth.

Haworth has asked the school board for permission to begin strategic planning to address school district needs, and challenges, now and into the future.

Those challenges include improvements needed to current facilities, the national teacher shortage, new state graduation requirements, a shrinking community population and more.

Haworth hopes to have a strategic plan finalized and approved by the board next July.

After the board’s public meeting, it will meet in executive session for a training session on how to be better and more effective board members.
