Work Begins On U.S. 231 This Week

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says that a resurfacing project on U.S. 231 is beginning this week.

The contractor will be closing one lane of the roadway and will have flagmen in the area directing motorists around the construction.

Wabash Valley Asphalt was awarded the contract for $4.4 million that will see U.S. 231 from just north of State Road 42 to just south of State Road 240 resurfaced.

The work in Cloverdale will also install ADA compliant curb ramps.

This work is scheduled for completion on October 15 of this year.
