SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is creating an eligibility list for the position of Merit Deputy Sheriff.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, with no arrests for a felony, or any crime involving domestic violence.

Applicants will undergo an extensive background check including employment and credit history.

Physical agility testing, aptitude testing, psychological testing, and polygraph examination will also be conducted.

Starting salary, including uniform allowance is $36,739., with longevity pay increases after four years of service.

Deputies have a state mandated pension, plus earn paid vacation and recognized holidays.

County employees also have access to a generous health insurance package.

Deputies have opportunities to attend a wide variety of specialized training courses.

Career deputies have opportunities to work in specialized areas such as criminal investigations and K9 officer.

The application must be returned to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office no later than 4pm on Friday June 29, 2018.

Applicants will be given instructions concerning Physical Fitness Assessment and Aptitude Testing.
