ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — An attorney from Zionsville has announced a plan to run for Indiana Attorney General.

John Westercamp says he will seek the Republican nomination, challenging incumbent Curtis Hill. Westercamp works for the law firm Bose McKinney and Evans LLP. He is part of the law firm’s groups for business services, economic development and incentives, and real estate.

Westercamp plans to make his announcement at events in Indianapolis, Elkhart, Fort Wayne, and Evansville on Thursday.

Hill has not indicated whether he will seek re-election. Hill was accused of groping four women, including one lawmaker, in March 2018 at AJ’s Lounge in Indianapolis. Hill has been accused of professional misconduct by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission. The next hearing is set for Oct. 16.

The four women who accuse Hill of groping have sued Hill and the state of Indiana in federal court.

Candidates for the state’s Attorney General are nominated at party conventions, not by primary voters.
