Officials Looking For Firm To Study Local Judicial System

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Vigo County’s Commissioners and the Citizens for Better Government in Vigo County agree that there needs to a special needs assessment of the local criminal justice system.

This is to determined, if, the county needs a new jail and how big it should be or if other changes to the system need to be made.

County attorney Michael Wright, the commissioners and three county council members have interviewed several firms, and two of those firms have submitted proposals to the county.

Another firm was interviewed Tuesday afternoon.

Officials currently have no timeline on when a firm will be selected to conduct the survey.
