Margaret Avenue Project Taking A Little Longer

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Construction on the Margaret Avenue railroad overpass is continuing but things are going a little slower than planned.

It was supposed to be opened to traffic before the end of this summer but due to some delays in relocating utilities it will take a bit longer.

Mayor Duke Bennett told us that Duke Energy moved their lines in a timely fashion and then Frontier and Spectrum came in to move their lines but some things took a little longer than originally planned.

The Mayor said that with good weather, the hope is to make up some lost time and have the new overpass and road opened to traffic no later than July 2019 but possibly earlier if the weather cooperates.
