Illinois Child At Riley Hospital After Falling In Flood Waters

SUMNER, Ill. – A two-year-old is recovering after being rescued from floodwaters Monday night in Sumner, Illinois.

Around 8p.m. emergency crews in Lawrence County say that a woman called 9-1-1 after a two-year-old was playing with his brothers and reportedly fell into a flooded culvert.

The little boy was caught up in the rushing water.

After being pulled out, the child eventually was transferred to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.

Police say that this was just an accident and that he was being supervised right before the accident.

The child was last listed in critical condition.
