Committie Approves Tax Abatement For Possible Pet Food Plant

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – A pet food company may be coming to the Wabash Valley.
It was thought that Saturn Petcare might take over the old Kellogg’s plant in eastern Vigo County but the deal to purchase the property never came together.
Now a Vigo County Council committee has approved a 10 year tax abatement for the former Pfizer property.
The company plans to make a $38 million investment in overhauling that site.
If the pet-care company moves in, it would bring 200 jobs that pay more than $18 an hour.
