VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Wednesday morning just before 11 a.m. Indiana State Police discovered a two vehicle crash that had just occurred in the southbound lanes of US 41 at SR 246 in southern Vigo County.

Police say that 21-year-old Carl Melchert of Fairbanks, IN., pulled into the path of a pickup driven by 64 year old Marvin Dabelow of Terre Haute.

Dabelow was southbound US41 and struck the Melchert vehicle on the driver’s side.

Melchert was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.

Dabelow refused treatment at the scene.
