Shelburn Man Arrested In Vermillion County After Family Dispute

VERMILION COUNTY, Ind – Sunday evening a little after 5 p.m. Vermillion County 911 received several reports of an altercation in the parking lot of the Pilot Truck Stop located at I-74 / SR 63.

One report stated that shots had been fired sending multiple officers from multiple agencies to the scene.

Deputies say that it turns out that no weapons were involved, and no shots had been fired at any time.

Officers say that the altercation that had occurred in the parking lot, stimmed from a disagreement on driving behaviors during a trip with friends and family.  The disagreement boiled over in the parking lot and that the argument turned physical.

59-year-old David B. Mitchell of Shelburn was arrested and taken to the Vermillion County Jail on the charge of battery where he is currently held on a mandated 18 hour cool down hold and $5,000.00 bond.
