Terre Haute Man Wanted On Murder Charge Arrested

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – A man wanted on an attempted murder charge was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

The Terre Haute Police Department was searching for 34-year-old Derrick Worthington in connection to an incident that happened on July 8th in the 1900 block of 6th Avenue.

Police were called to that location on the report of a robbery.

Worthington and 40 year old on Thomas Marshall are accused of going to Marshall’s former step-father’s home, robbing him at gun point of two debit cards and PIN numbers, $1000 in cash, jewelry and then tying him up, cutting the hose to his oxygen tank and threatening to kill him.

 Marshall was arrested July 16 and is in Vigo County Jail and is being held on $150,000 bond.

Worthington is being held on $150,000 bond and will make his first court appearance later today (Wednesday 8-1-18).

Jail record indicate that Worthington has been booked into the Vigo County Jail on numerous occasions since 2011 for burglary, operating while intoxicated, domestic battery, strangulation, receiving stolen property, battery, and neglect of a dependent.
