VIGO COUNTY, Ind.  – A 22-year-old Terre Haute man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Wednesday for the shooting death of another man last November.

Tristin Spencer was charged with murder but that was dropped when he pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter as part of a plea deal.

Police say there was a verbal argument between Robert James Archer and Spencer.

Spencer told police Archer called him a derogatory name and that led to the fight where her shot and killed Archer.
