VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind –  Early Saturday morning around 5:30 a.m. Vermillion County Police were called about a crash on State Road 163 near the iron bridge.

Medical units arrived before deputies and reported that the vehicle involved was leaving the scene and was occupied by two individuals.

When deputies stopped the car they were able to smell a strong odor of marijuana.

Police say that the driver 27 year old Elliot C. Buchner of Durham, NC and the passenger 33 year old Christina M Valle of Cameron, MO were both under the influence of an illegal substance.

Valle admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle.

Officers found marijuana, heroin, numerous paraphernalia items and a large amount of cash.

Buchner tested positive for Cannabis and Methadone.

Both were arrested on various drug related charges.
