BRAZIL, Ind – At Tuesday’s Clay County School Board meeting, the board voted to move forward with a plan to modernize and improve the outdoor facilities at Northview High School.

The vote was four in favor. two against and one abstention to install artificial turf on the current football field.

Officials have said that this would make the facilities available to the athletic teams and the band no matter the weather conditions and that the cost compared to real grass would be approximately the same over time.

He said that the maintenance cost of regular turf would be much more.

Officials say that the cost per hour of use would be much less for turf.

No word yet on a time line for construction.
