VIGO COUNTY, Ind.  – The Vigo County Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee had its first meeting late last week.

The group is made up of 31 members from throughout the community.

The committee will help to advise the County Commissioners and Council on ways the jail can best serve the area.

The first meeting was organizational and to help members understand their roll.

They plan to investigate ideas being implemented in surrounding areas.

The next meeting is open to the public and will be December 27th at noon in the County Commissioner Chambers.
