VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Vigo County officials have been given more time to file a response to a motion filed by plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit over conditions in the Vigo County Jail.

Monday was the deadline for the county to respond to a motion to make Vigo County pay for all plaintiffs’ attorney fees in this case.

Vigo County asked for additional time to respond and Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson moved the deadline to the 17th which is also the day she wants the county to update her on the county’s rezoning request for the International Paper property.

The Terre Haute City Council will likely vote on rezoning request this Thursday for the old International Paper property which is where the county commissioners want to build the next jail.
